*A note: I am using she/her pronouns for my personal planets in these writing and visioning exercises because those are my pronouns and that feels most natural at the moment. Even when the planet, such as Mercury, is generally understood as masculine, this is my inner Mercury who is to some degree a strand of myself. Apologies also to devotees of the deity this planet is named after, who may find all the “she’s” jarring.
My personal Mercury is my chart ruler. She’s in very strong conjunction with my Midheaven, just like Venus is; she’s actually a fraction of a degree closer. Venus sits just on the Ninth House side of the MC, and Mercury mirrors her on the Tenth House side.
She’s my chart ruler by way of a Virgo Ascendant, not a Gemini one, but she’s in Gemini in my chart – like an overachiever trying to illustrate that she can juggle both the signs she rules at once, which does seem like Mercury behaviour.
Anyway, all that to say, there are all sorts of reasons you’d expect Mercury to be a ~*~Big Deal~*~ in my chart… and she is. I see that in my life very clearly.
My whole career has been in writing and professional communications – reading, writing, researching, strategizing and advising, constantly absorbing information on the one hand and translating and disseminating it on the other. There’s an argument that most of my life is, and always has been, Mercury in Gemini stuff.
So it’s weird that I always sort of hand-waved my Gemini Mercury in my chart before this week, but it’s true. I think the influence seemed so obvious that I never felt I needed to dig deeper. I suspect now that was an oversight.
